The assignment was to demolish the existing building and design a two to three-story student housing building and a courtyard for the college. Student housing is not a new concept to community colleges, but it’s not a common one either. With this assignment, Fullerton College will be one of the few community colleges in California to offer on-campus housing. Living on campus can provide many benefits, some of which include cutting the time and cost of commuting, and creating opportunities for students to
engage in social, educational, and recreational activities at half the cost.
